our partnership: Jordan and I teamed up in January of 2005 when we both realized that our former partners at the time had different goals and objectives. Finding a partner in the adult ice dancing world is 10 times harder than when your're young just because there are so few of us out there. We both knew we were determined to compete on the Adult National level, and we also knew that we were both extremely passionate and motivated. Being adults, scheduling was the hard part. I am a Meteorologist for the local ABC television station, as well as a Portrait Photographer and Jordan is a Real-Estate Agent, so finding the hours to skate together has been a huge challenge for us. But in the end, persistence prevailed and we've managed to squeeze in 10-15 hours a week training at Mt. View Ice Arena in Vancouver, WA. We train four days a week on ice and then spend a few hours a week at the gym getting our cardiovascular systems in good enough shape to sustain a 2:30 minute program. We are constantly trying to come up with creative lifts and original choreographic moves that will push adult ice dancing to a higher level. As we continue to train, Portland, OR has become a hot bed for adult ice-dance. We now have a record FIVE competitive teams in the area. It's an inspiring time and a challenging environment, and we are so proud to be part of it.
Jordan and I are very good friends and training time is when we get to forget that we have adult responsibilities, mortgages and jobs, and we get to focus on the fun of day-to-day learning and challenging ourselves to skate our very best.
our goals: To continually improve our skating to the point where we skate as well, and with as much power and speed and edge, as the standard track skaters. We both hope to pass our Gold Level US Figure Skating dance tests within the next two years.
